Nobelius Heritage Park & Emerald Museum
The park is the last remaining reminent of the famous Nobelius Nursery. The Museum is open Wednesday's from 10am to 3pm and Sundays from 1.30pm to 4pm or by arrangement.
Emerald Lake Model Railway
Emerald Lake Model Railway & Miniature World is the largest model railway in the Southern Hemisphere. Located in beautiful Emerald Lake Park and adjacent to Puffing Billy Emerald Lakeside Station, the model railway delights children and adults of all images. There are viewing platforms inside the model railway so you can get up close to all the action. Reminisce about days gone by, using your own pedal power on a paddleboat on Lake Treganowan, Emerald Lake Park. Located next to the Environment Centre, on the south-east side of the lake, opposite the wading pool. The paddleboat hire offers a perfectly relaxing way to enjoy the lake.
Fishing at Emerald Lake Park is a popular activity for all ages - whether you're an avid angler looking for a peaceful and relaxing location for a first timer. Why not make it a day experience? Bring a picnic and cook your catch on the free barbecues. Lake Treganowan is restocked twice a year and offers an experience for all levels. Please note Victorian Recreational Fishing licences apply.

Emerald Lake Park has a number of tracks and trails offering a range of walking experiences, from an easy stroll to more challenging hikes. Take a short easy walk after your picnic or combine a few trails to extend your walk into an all-day trek.

Emerald Lake Park has two playgrounds, both located near the poolside shelter. The newest playground consists of a wide range of play activities suitable for teenage users as well as offering outdoor gym equipment to encourage teenagers and adults of all ages to be active while enjoying the outdoors. The play items include activities designed to provide climbing, activer play and social opportunities, and includes climbing structures, double 'hang n glide', orbital spinna and pyramid net.
Emerald-Cockatoo Recreation Trail
Emerald-Cockatoo recreational trail is ideal for walkers and cyclists and offers access to a range of family fun and recreational activities. The trail is a comfortable 2.5hr walk from Kilvington Road (south east of Puffing Billy station), Emerald to Cockatoo; wandering through natural settings including Nobelius Heritage Park, Emerald Museum, Emerald Lake Park and Wright Forest. Some sections near Nobelius Heritage Park and in Wright Forest are more challenging and may not suit all visitors, but the very fit can warm up with a vigorous cycle through the forest to Cockatoo.
Located above the Wattle Creek Valley between Avonsleigh and Cockatoo, Wright Forest is the perfect place for exploring natural bushland. A variety of walking tracks meander through the park’s serene setting, offering fantastic vantage points to watch Puffing Billy.
